Market overview 2024-03-13

The newly arrived dot-com selloff in the Technology sector sent the major U.S. stock indices down within 0.5 percentage points. However, thanks to the demand primarily in the Commodities and Energy sectors, the Dow Jones blue chip index was able to hold on to a slight plus. Macroeconomic data on consumer inflation was slightly worse than forecasts, which also somewhat tempered the participants' optimism. However, "hawkish" statements of the Fed has not appeared yet, which may signal that consumer inflation is not a key indicator for the regulator now.
