The rather weak reports of IT giants Google and Microsoft undermined the confidence of market participants in the season of good reporting. As a consequence, the Nasdaq index showed a rather strong decrease of more than 2%, which, however, was not supported by the broader stock indices. The Energy and Healthcare sectors were the clear favorites of the day, while the Communication Services sector showed clear weakness.
