The US stock market participants were evidently getting ready for a corrective movement during Thursday's trading, but a rather large volume of accumulated short positions before the "Witch Friday" on June 16, when a very significant expiration of the futures contracts takes place, did not allow the main stock indices to go into the negative zone. Corporate reports also provided some support to the market, keeping the stable demand in a number of assets.
